Referencing the name or roll call from primary school days, "在/here/aqui"" is an adult repurposing of holding space for the self, titled in the artist's three preferred and spoken languages. A collagery of video footage from the few seconds before the beginning of a dance class, a sound recording of improvised vocalization captured in a wine barrel and a realtime live digital video abstract painting of another realm, this work takes a glimpse into the process of how to hold ourselves here -- from the casual, carefree milliseconds before inserting into a rehearsed choreography where the woman melts into a parallel plane of threads and sinews, reclaiming her deleted self from societal expectations to saunter away in her own presence that is still to be decided and designed. Un-performing, undemanding and fully present, "在/here/aqui" personifies a soft protest by the act of self care by showing up for yourself.
